1 bedroom apartment in Santa Maria, Sal, in small complex with own pool and private beach. 1 double bedroom, large living area with very. good extra bed/sofa, in beautifully designed small beachside complex. Sleeps up to 4. Porto Antigo has its own small sandy beach and large swimming pool. It is the prime spot in Santa Maria. Apartment living area includes dining/kitchen area with extendable table seating up to 6, 4-ring electric hob, large fridge. Fully equipped for self catering. The living area also has very good double bed/sofa, two extra armchairs, TV (mainly Italian + CNN) Shower/wc. Patio/ additional dining area with sea view (to one side). Air conditioned. Some building going on in front during 2007, but quite low tech. ie. not noisy, heavy machinery). Apartment is about 50 yards from sea. Towels and linen provided. Small safe. Great for family beach holiday. Safe, protected, sandy beach within the small harbour which lies within the complex. There are also long stretches of sand beach a few yards further away. Excellent also for water sports, 200 yards from prime windsurfing centre. Fishing, scuba, kite-surfing also available. 

About the area around Sal

Sal is the most developed of the Cape Verde Islands for tourism, the town of Santa Maria being the centre of the action and the main tourist resort of Cape Verde. Crystal clear waters lap along stretches of beautiful white sandy beach, and  water sports enthusiasts and holidaymakers make the most of the rapidly developing hotels, resorts and tourist infrastructure. Santa Maria is becoming one of the world's top locations for wind and kite surfers as well as being an excellent destination for diving and sun worshipping. Santa Maria has surprisingly good restaurants right on the beach, and in the town you find a lovely square with shops, bars and restaurants with musicians playing Cape Verdean classics in the open air. Santa Maria is still very much in it's infancy as a resort. The palms are still 4 feet high, but growing with the popularity of this charming town. The international airport in Sal is a 15 minute drive to Santa Maria, on the best tarmac road in Cape Verde.
